Day 1 of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee habituation experience
Arrival and transport to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: Depending on your arrival time on the first day of the five-day tour, our driver-guide will greet you and give you a briefing on the safari before beginning the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Because it is home to half of the world’s mountain gorilla population and is the only gorilla destination that provides gorilla habituation experiences, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of Uganda’s most popular national parks. The trip to Rushaga region in the southern section of the park takes the entire day, and you’ll stop at the Igongo Culture Center for lunch en route. Following lunch, you will continue on your tour, which will offer fantastic views of the lovely surroundings, residences, happy residents, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands, and more. When you get there, you’ll check in at the lodge, eat dinner, and stay the night.
Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla habituation experience: On the second day of the five-day Uganda chimpanzee and gorilla habituation experience, after an early breakfast, you will carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing on the guidelines and expectations for habituated gorillas. Only the Rushaga sector, in the southernmost region of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, is available for gorilla habituation experiences. A group of four persons is permitted to visit one gorilla family each day. Following the briefing, you will begin jungle walking alongside park rangers, academics, and gorilla physicians, among others.
Trekking will allow you to see additional primates like l’hoest monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, bush pigs, forest elephants, and buffaloes, as well as a variety of plants and beautiful bird species like the odd weaver, Rwenzori batis, Chapin’s flycatcher, and handsome francolin. Once the habituated gorillas have been identified, you will be given the opportunity to spend four hours with them in their natural environment. During this time, you can name each gorilla, see them feeding and playing, take pictures and video, and learn more about their habits and behaviors. You will hike back to the park’s administrative center after your spellbinding encounter with the mountain gorillas, where you will meet your driver guide for the transport back to the resort for supper and the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
On the third day of your five-day habituation trip with gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to make the transfer to Kibale National Park. You will drive through the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park on your route there, where you can see lions that can scale trees. During the game drive, you may see the tree climbing lions lying up in the branches of acacia and fig trees. It is thought that they climb trees for a variety of reasons, including escaping the heat of the ground, getting a clear view of the antelopes, and avoiding insects that may bite them, among others. You will eat lunch following your game drive in the Ishasha sector, and then continue your journey via Fort Portal, which will provide you with breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, crater lakes, tea plantations, and more. When you get to the park, you’ll check in at the lodge, eat dinner, and stay the night.

When the habituated chimpanzees are located, you are given the opportunity to spend 4 hours with them in their natural environment. During this time, you can observe them eating, nursing, copulating, patrolling, hunting, resting, and constructing new nests. You can also learn about their way of life and observe their behaviors while taking pictures and video to remember the experience. You will walk back to the park headquarters after your thrilling encounter with the chimpanzees, where you will meet your driver and transfer back to the lodge for the evening’s leisure, dinner, and overnight.
