Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala / Entebbe to Kibale forest national park
On day 1 of the 7-day Uganda Rwanda wildlife and primate safari, you will be picked up from your destination in Kampala or Entebbe as previously stated, and then driven to Kibale forest national park with lunch en route. After you get to the park, you’ll go to the lodge to check in, have supper, and stay the night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale and connect to Queen Elizabeth national park
On day two of a seven-day Uganda, Rwanda, wildlife, and primate safari, enjoy your early breakfast, pack some snacks, and then meet your safari driver for transportation to the park headquarters in Kanyanchu. There, you will receive a briefing before entering the forest to begin chimpanzee trekking. Following the briefing, you will begin your quest for these gentle giants in the Kibale Forest, where you will also come across other primates as the park is home to 13 different primate species as well as mammals, birds, and a variety of other creatures. You’ll walk for two to four hours, spend an hour up close seeing chimpanzees in their natural settings, and then return to the park’s main office to meet your safari driver and be driven back to the lodge for lunch.
Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park: After checking out of the lodge later in the afternoon, meet your safari driver who will be waiting for you and begin the approximately 2-hour trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive at Queen Elizabeth late in the day to check in, eat, and stay the night.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park
On the third day of your seven-day Uganda, Rwanda, and wildlife safari, you’ll leave for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast. Kasenyi Plains is the most popular area of the park and is home to the country’s largest concentration of wildlife species. You can see lions, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs, antelopes, bushbucks, and a variety of other animals that awe visitors to the Kasenyi plains during a game drive. You will be taken back to your resort for lunch after taking pleasure in the game drive.

Day 7: Golden Monkey trekking in Volcanoes national park and departures
The seventh day of the seven-day Uganda, Rwanda, and primate safari begins with a briefing at the park headquarters before departing for a half-day of golden monkey trekking in the Volcanoes national park. Following a briefing, you will spend two to three hours looking for a habituated troop of golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. If you locate them, you will spend an hour with the monkeys before leaving the forest and making your way back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, check out of the hotel and meet your safari driver for a ride from the Volcanoes National Park directly to the international airport of Kigali, where your flight will depart from. Your flight should be booked for a late evening or night trip on this final day.
